NIGERIA POLITICS: Hajiya Asmau Asabe Ahmed Biography and Profile
Hajiya Asmau Asabe Ahmed hails from Bida local government area in Niger State of Nigeria. She is married and blessed with children.
She hold a National Certificate of Education from College of Education in Zaria, and later earn a Bachelor of Education degree (Language Arts) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Until her appointment as the Honourable Minister of State, Agriculture and Rural Development in 2014, she has served in various public office positions, where she promoted good work ethics in public offices.
Special Adviser, Investment and Housing (Niger State)
Liaising with and between Ministries to identify investment opportunities.
Work with Ministries on Public Private Partnership arrangements between Government and Private investors.
Works with Ministry of Lands and Housing to attract real Estate developers with the primary aim of providing affordable housing for residents.
Supervision of the Niger State/Bank of Industry MSME fund that provides low interest loans to Small and Medium Enterprises.
Any other assignments as instructed by the Governor on the State’s development policies.
Executive Director – United States Nigeria Development Institute
Raising funds for the institutes operations.
Working with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (United State Mortgage Corporations) to develop low income housing programs.
Working with United State’s Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Federal Ministry of Industry to establish Business Information Centres around the Country.
Working with Education for Democracy Development Initiative (EDDI) to establish Community Resource Centres.
Working to help take advantage of the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) with a project specifically designed for the textile, apparel, and footwear industry to update and upgrade existing facilities to deliver world class quality products.
Strategic Planning Officer: Kaduna Refining and Petrol Chemical Company (NNPC)
The initial auditing and analyzing of refinery operations.
Working with Arthur Andersen (now Accenture) as part of the corporate planning team to develop a new organisation structure that would streamline and evolve a fully commercialized NNPC.
Development of the refinery’s five year strategic plan (operational and financial).
Developing, Monitoring and Evaluating capital projects.
Budget implementation monitoring and review.
