The number of countries switching to national currencies to settle bilateral trade deals is growing in the face of the US weaponization of the dollar. Nigeria’s central bank sold yuan at its first auction of the Chinese currency, two months after it agreed a $2.5 billion swap with Beijing.

Organized by Unite the Right — the same network that called last year’s protest in Charlottesville, Virginia — Sunday’s rally will once again see the extremists stand face-to-face with anti-fascists, who are staging a counter protest.
“I don’t know exactly what will happen, but it probably will not be good,” tweeted Richard Spencer, a leader of the so-called “alt-right” movement, who said he would be staying away from the rally.

Democratic incumbents in both Minnesota districts are leaving office, and the races to replace them are widely rated as tossups. President Donald Trump carried both by about 15 points in 2016, even as Hillary Clinton narrowly won Minnesota.
“It will go a long way to maintaining Republican control of the House, picking up those two seats,” Israel said. “Both sides know that. And that’s why you’re going to see millions of dollars being spent on all those races.”
Republican Troy Balderson led Democrat Danny O’Connor by about 1,700 votes with all precincts reporting, although the Ohio secretary of state’s office said a final result would be delayed until more than 8,000 provisional and absentee ballots were counted.
“We’re not stopping now. Tomorrow we rest and then we keep fighting through to November,” Danny O’Connor told supporters at a post-election party.
