Princess Oyenike “Nike” Roberts is an unapologetic pioneer of sorts who courageously strives to break new ground in all she does. She was born July 22, to ret. Lt. Col. Oyetunde and Abimbola Oyedele, into the Adeitan royal family in Boripe local government area of Ada in Osun state.
Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, Nike attended elementary and secondary schools there before traveling to the UK for further studies. Upon return, Nike worked in the hospitality industry in Nigeria, developing her own brand of lunch delivery services to corporate clients, and event catering.
Nike immigrated to the US where she has worked as an administrator in a utility construction company; and contracts as a social services provider to the department of family and children services.
She started the first multi-cultural television station in the southeast region; and produced several original content which showcased the experience of Africans in Diaspora. She also produced and hosted her own talk show.
Nike is an advocate for education and is a continuing learner herself. She has degrees in Office Administration & Technology, Information Security, and Technical communications.
Nike has been involved in community building and has served in leadership roles in several organizations:
– She is the General Secretary to the Efik Association, Georgia chapter;
– Vice Chair of Nigerian American Public Affairs committee, NAPAC GA;
– the president of Association of African Media Practitioners and the current president of her high school alumni Reagan Memorial Baptist girls’ secondary school, Lagos: ROGA, USA.
Not only does she believe in leading to serve, she also believes in serving to lead, consequently, she has volunteered in several capacities, including cooking for and serving the homeless at shelters.
Nike believes that strong families make strong communities which translate to responsible governance; therefore she brings passion for sustainable transformation, youth development and integration in the political sphere; a reengineering of minds to embrace diversity and above all, integrity and strength of character. Nike is married with children.
