NIGERIA POLITICS: Nigerians Celebrate The End Of War On Corruption

Today I make good on my promise to you two years ago that I’ll kill corruption before corruption kills us. Corruption is dead! The crowd erupted with thunderous applause: “God bless you Baba! Long may you reign!” Beaming with smiles and nodding his head the president replied: “Thank you and God bless Nigeria.”

NIGERIA POLITICS: Governor Ambode: Fix Dangerous And Dilapidated Lagos School Buildings!

Appeals by community activists and education advocates to the governor to repair the buildings yielded no positive result. NIGERIA POLITICS: The Tyranny Of The Minority

NIGERIA POLITICS: The Tyranny Of The Minority

The tyrants in the National Assembly have erased an efficient democratic opportunity for determining the public good. They are not constrained by the need to bargain with the people’s interests.

The people lacks any mechanism for holding the tyrannical minority to account or even to listen. They simply have their way, without regard to reach out to the people. The dangerous aspect of this is that the potential for instability and separatists agitations exists and increase when the rest of 180 million people ends up as permanent losers.

To get the business of the majority – the people – done, we must overthrow the tyranny of the minority in the National Assembly.

NIGERIA POLITICS: Requiem For Nigeria @ 57

NIGERIA POLITICS: Requiem For Nigeria @ 57

At 57, Nigeria is a shining example of a government of feckless inaction, fetid bureaucracy, and unfettered bullshit. Nigeria is dying, yes. It’s a victim of undeserved vindictiveness of a greed, corrupt, stupid, foolish, and callous political class. As Nigeria begins her 58th year, I’ll encourage our battered citizens to turn their furious indignation into action, their collective misery into unstoppable bond of vengeance, and direct their anger, blessed anger, to the engine of political and social change.

Happy Independence? Nah…

NIGERIA POLITICS: Disunited Yoruba Will Stumble

NIGERIA POLITICS: Disunited Yoruba Will Stumble

We must stick to the 16-point demand reached at the Yoruba Summit. Buhari administration has chosen a time and a moment that would prove to be a great calamity if it fails to act wisely and promptly. To the agents of disunity, history will hold you accountable for the rupture of a dream of Yoruba people. That will be the inscription etched deep on your tombstones.

The die is cast. The revolution has begun. There’s no turning back!

NIGERIA POLITICS: Hate Speech Law Is a Resurrection Of Decree 4

NIGERIA POLITICS: Hate Speech Law Is a Resurrection Of Decree 4

The hate speech law is to restrict or abridge free speech of Nigerians. It’s a law based on viewpoint, an egregious form of content discrimination which is presumptively unconstitutional. The Constitution does not entrust freedom of speech to government’s benevolence. Instead, our reliance must be on the substantial safeguards of free and open discussion in a democratic society. It cannot be stressed enough that speeches that governments or their agents, and enemies of free speech view as offensive are protected not just against outright prohibition, but also against lesser restrictions.

NIGERIA POLITICS: Churchill Okonkwo: A Contemptuous Ingrate Don’t Take Yoruba Kindness For Weakness, We’re Not Weak!

No one ever went broke overestimating the ungratefulness of shameless proselyte like Okonkwo the pathetic crybaby and an embarrassment to Ndigbo. Okonkwo’s article not only reads like the field notes of an oddly lyrical skid-row ethnologist, but a lurid prose devoid of reason and intelligent thinking full of heresy and hoopla.

NIGERIA POLITICS: Infinite Jest: The Politics Of Looting The Book Dino Melaye Never Published

Melaye remains the most hated colorful and boastful icons of corruption in Nigeria. By reflecting in his book his truest and sometimes ugly self back to the Nigerian people, it’s sad that sullen-looking, sleepy-eyed, foolish, cunning and dim, complicated illiterates and primitive people like him populate the senate.
