NIGERIA POLITICS: The Yoruba Advance And The Afenifere Attempt At Sabotage

Afenifere supported Buhari in 2007 at a time when Buhari’s running mate was non-Yoruba and at a time his ethnocentric impulses were at its worst. This same Afenifere also supported GEJ in 2015 when it became clear to the Yoruba nation that the government of GEJ was implementing an insidious anti-Yoruba agenda. Today, Afenifere is doing all to Sabotage the current alliance between the Yoruba and the Buhari government not because of any matter of principle but because of its jealousy about the success of that one time governor Govenor of Lagos state whose party has morphed into the party of governance at the Federal level and whose Yoruba contingent hold positions of power and influence under Buhari.

NIGERIA POLITICS: Goodluck Jonathan And The Ostrich Game

Goodluck Jonathan should spare what remains of his saliva and throw his hat into the ring if he and what remains of PDP believes in the lies they regurgitate to themselves that he did well in power. Let the PDP simply exhume Goodluck Jonathan and present him to Nigerians on its 2019 ticket as the best they have for the presidency on the mantra that he did so well for the six years he was here and let Nigerians vote, if in real terms they have forgotten the lessons of March 28, 2015.

NIGERIA POLITICS: Nigeria Most Popular Political Stories Today

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has condemned a song said to be wishing the Igbo dead, warning that it shouldn’t be taken lightly. “I am disturbed about the news of a song celebrating hatred against a particular Nigerian ethnic group.”

“Given that a similar song is what ignited the Rwandan Genocide, as a nation, we must not take these reports lightly. I urge the security services to do their utmost to nip this wickedness in the bud. As I have said previously, we must understand and accept that all Nigerians are brothers and sisters born from the womb of one Nigeria. May this be uppermost in our minds as we pray that God may bless Nigeria.” – Goodluck Jonathan wrote.

NIGERIA POLITICS: The Subversive Biafran Agitation, Ethnic Responses and The Nigerian Government

The Nigerian constitution makes clear that the unity of Nigeria is indivisible. That said, the constitution allows for changes and provides mechanisms through which changes can be effected. If a tribe within the Nigerian nation state wants out, it must do so within the parameters of the Nigerian constitution. The Federal Government is therefore handling matters very well. The behaviour of the Igbo elite has been disgraceful. They have now fully embraced the racist thug and now self acclaimed supreme leader Nnamdi Kanu.

Any casual listener to Radio Biafra when it was hosted by Kanu can attest to the most repugnant racist slurs and stereo types that were directed at the North and the Yoruba. This climate of hate speech has now been a feature of Igbo internet warriors all over the net.
