RUSSIA POLITICS: Iran Deal Working Well, No Need to Fix It: Russia

The approach of calls for fixing the Iran deal “seems to be a wrong way to follow as the existing documents are working quite efficiently,” Russian deputy foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov said of the deal, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

French President  Emmanuel Macron said Trump “wants to get tougher with Iran. I told him I thought this was the wrong approach because we have to look where we are now with [North] Korea.”

The Macron leader said he had criticized the US president’s Iran policy as a “bad method.”

RUSSIA POLITICS: Kremlin Recruits New Agents of ‘Russian World’

Therefore, those planning to participate in this event, perhaps, should think that visiting the annexed Crimea, they actually approve and support the aggressive policy of the Russian leader, encourage aggression and, thus, become accomplices in crimes committed by Russia in the territory of Ukraine.

For Russian special services, it could be a great opportunity to recruit new Kremlin agents, and young people planning to attend the Sochi festival could become potential targets for them.

RUSSIA POLITICS: US Pretending to Fight Islamic State in Syria, Iraq: Russia Says

“The actions of the Pentagon and the coalition demand an explanation. Is their change of tack a desire to complicate as much as they can the Syrian army’s operation, backed by the Russian air force, to take back Syrian territory to the east of the Euphrates?,” asked Konashenkov.

“Or is it an artful move to drive Islamic State terrorists out of Iraq by forcing them into Syria and into the path of the Russian air force’s pinpoint bombing?”

RUSSIA POLITICS: Russia Quietly Boosting Economic Support for North Korea: Here’s Why

RUSSIA POLITICS: Russia Quietly Boosting Economic Support for North Korea: Here’s Why

“The Kremlin really believes the North Korean leadership should get additional assurances and confidence that the United States is not in the regime change business,” Andrey Kortunov, head of the Russian International Affairs Council, a think-tank close to the Russian Foreign Ministry, told Reuters.

“The prospect of regime change is a serious concern. The Kremlin understands that U.S. President Donald Trump is unpredictable. They felt more secure with Barack Obama that he would not take any action that would explode the situation, but with Trump they don’t know.”

Trump, who mocks North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as a “rocket man” on a suicide mission, told the United Nations General Assembly last month he would “totally destroy” the country if necessary.

RUSSIA POLITICS: Pentagon Was Informed About Area of Russia’s Military Op in Deir ez-Zor in Advance: Moscow

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major-General Igor Konashenkov said: “Over the past few days, on the eastern bank of the Euphrates, Russian control and reconnaissance facilities have not identified a single combat of Islamic State terrorists with armed representatives of any ‘third force.’ Therefore, only representatives of the international coalition can answer the question as to how ‘opposition members’ or ‘military advisers of the international coalition’ managed to get to the IS-held areas in the eastern part of Deir ez-Zor without striking a blow.”

RUSSIA POLITICS: Russia Ready to Develop Ties With Both Koreas: Vladimir Putin Says

Russia is ready to develop ties with both Koreas, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday having met his South Korean counterpart Moon Jae-in at the EEF on Tuesday. The trilateral projects might include “piping Russian gas to Korea, and integration of the electric grids and railway systems of Russia, South and North Korea,” Putin stated.

“Implementation of the initiatives will not only have economic benefits, but will also contribute to strengthening trust and stability in the Korean Peninsula,” Putin stressed.

“It is obvious that the Korean Peninsula’s problems cannot be solved only with sanctions and pressure. One should not give in to emotion and drive North Korea into a corner.”

RUSSIA POLITICS: Russia, China Slam New Unilateral US Sanctions

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov reacted to the new US sanctions by expressing disappointment and warning Washington that Moscow was preparing a response.

“The lip service from American representatives about the desire to stabilize bilateral relations [with Russia] is extremely unconvincing. In recent years, Washington in theory should have learned that for us, the language of sanctions is unacceptable, and the solutions to real problems are only hindered by such actions. So far, however, there doesn’t seem to be an understanding of such obvious truths. In the meantime, we are beginning to work out the inevitable response to this situation.”
